Health is wealth. No doubt, you have heard this before. But what does that really mean? If I run daily, I’ll make millions? Not quite. But if you don’t look after yourself, you will get to the point that nothing else is possible and you will be forced to put all your resources into self-care.
Many of the illnesses we suffer today result from the lifestyle choices we make, including inactivity, using toxic products, food choices, stress levels, lack of sleep and more. When we take care of ourselves, these illnesses are less likely to creep into our lives.
For example, thirty minutes of moderate exercise each day reduces your risk of heart disease and depression. Learning how to reduce your stress levels helps you sleep better, eat better and in turn reduces risk of stroke.
The bottom line is that each time you choose your health, you are investing in your long-term ability to live life on your terms. Success is personal and we all want to be successful on our terms, whether that is financial gain, deep fulfilling relationships, creating positive change in your community and the list of possibilities goes on. If we prioritize self-care, the likelihood of success increases.
